Let us not be fooled, everything that is transpiring today regarding these attacks are satanic in nature. There are spiritual ramifications to what is taking place and as a child of God there are ramifications in how we respond. Proverbs 18:21 declares that death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.. As children of the Most High God, we are His agents in the earth designated to respond with His voice and love through these events. Romans 5:5 says, the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us. God's love is agape, unconditional love and it is not provided to us unnecessarily, God knew that we would have need of His love prior to the events in our life and lifetime. God is never reactive, He is always proactive, so as a response to the killing of these nine people in a church in Charleston, South Carolina, and the many other events taking place in this nation, what has God provided us to deal with it? His love. God's love was not given to avoid a conflict, it was given for the conflict! Perfect love casts out fear, therefore we must refuse to be terrorized by these events. Proverbs 10:12 says, hatred stirs up strife, but love covers all sins, therefore even these heinous acts can be covered by God's love. It is not easy to love this way, but it is necessary, otherwise our own heart will become hardened, darkened and bitter, and our prayers lifeless, inept and ineffective. Trust that God is ready to respond to our prayers for deliverance, hope, healing, comfort, love, peace, joy, guidance, direction, strength, courage, justice and whatever else we require to work through the pain, grief and anger we may feel. God knows our human side and he knows our spiritual side. He knows what will make us and he knows what will break us! Understand that giving into the emotions we feel is what Satan is counting on, just like he did in the garden. If we give in, Satan will win and have us where he wants us. Yet, if we let God fill us with His Spirit, love and hope, Satan has lost more ground than he has gained. Don't be fooled, this is a spiritual battle and your soul and those connected to you are hanging in the balance! You have to choose who's side you will stand on. This is not the first and it will not be the last, the world is growing darker, but we the church are to be brighter in God, day by day. Though it may be hard, be encourage and be blessed!
