1 Samuel 3:10 Now the Lord came, and stood, and called as at other times, "Samuel, Samuel!" And Samuel answered, Speak, for your servant hears. Have you ever noticed that whenever God chose to use someone in the bible, He always provided some sort of backdrop of who the person was somewhere in the story line? Whether it was their character traits which revealed their flaws, their history which presented an understanding of their lineage, how they arrived at the place they were or even a name change that redefined their designation. Whatever details God provides for us in His Word, it is there for insightful consideration and revelation under the direction of the Holy Spirit. And so it is with the human side of the people God used, their background was not just for a good story, it is useful to show us that we are not exempt from God using us. The flawed characters of people of faith

Abram concealed the truth. - Genesis 12:11-20

Sarai conceived a carnal plan. Genesis 16:1-4

Jacob was a supplanter. - Genesis 25:26

Joseph was immature. - Genesis 37:3-10

Moses was a fugitive. - Exodus 2:11-15

Rahab was a prostitute. - Joshua 2:1

Gideon was the least of the smallest. - Judges 6:15

Ruth was a widow. - Ruth 1:1-5

Peter was uneducated.- Acts 4:13

Saul was a persecuter. - Acts 8:1-3

According to Jeremiah 29:11, it is God who knows the plans He has towards us, the plans of good and not of evil to give us an expected end. Let us not be so quick to disqualify ourselves from the assignment that God has planned for us, after all, it is He who made us and not us ourselves. God made us for something; don't die for nothing!

Key Considerations - "A champion must have a cause, before the champion is born." - "The flawless has already been resurrected and seated, God is now using the flawed." - "Greatness never starts out great."

- "Be willing to come to God as you are; yet pliable in the Potter's Hands that you won't remain like you were."

When God calls, be willing and answer, "speak, for your servant hears."

Be encouraged, be blessed, and be used by God!
